■ 上向き傾向を見せる3月のファンドマネジャー景気予測

Bank of America Merrill Lynchの月次ファンドマネジャー調査によると、３月のグローバル・ファンドマネジャー景況感は前月から大幅に改善した。今後12ヶ月間世界経済が改善すると予測するファンドマネジャーの比率からその反対を予測するファンドマネジャーの比率を差し引くと２月の＋11％に対し、３月は＋28％となった。１月は反対にマイナスがプラスを上回っていた。日本経済についても＋91％と、２ヶ月前の＋47％から大幅な改善を示している。

• 当社に関する情報：information about the company.
  aboutの代わりにonも使えます。
  英文と一対一で対応するように、このようにin its previous earnings guidanceという表現を使うのが一つの方法ですが、「同社は、・・・・・との予想を前回発表していました。」というように読み替えて、英語にするという方法もあります。その場合、「・・との予想を前回発表した」はhad previously provided earnings guidance of〜となります。今回は、後者の方法で以下話を進めます。

• （情報を）入手して頂く方法：a way of finding (information).
  findの代わりにobtainやaccessなどの動詞も使えます。

• （方法）として：
  「として」に該当する英語としてはasが最適です。as a way of ○○○となります。

• 当社IRウェブサイト：its investor relations website.
  日本語で「ホームページ」ということばがよく使われますが、「ホームページ」はウェブサイトのなかの基本ページを意味しますので、このような場合はwebsiteが正しい表現となります。

  このような場合は、encourageが最もよく使われます。encourageはその直ぐ後に目的語がきますので、encourages investors to- -となります。
